Rink Behaviour Policy

RINK BEHAVIOUR POLICY

(Adopted March 22, 2007)
(Amended February 11, 2010)

  1. MMLL is responsible for the conduct of the participants, spectators, and other persons present in the facility by reason of the activities contemplated by the agreements in place for all facilities being used by the League.  Therefore, the League and all its members are authorized to enforce the provisions of this policy.
  2. Any loss or damage to any equipment or personal property owned or used by those named above while present in the facilities by reason of the activities contemplated by this agreement is their sole responsibility,
  3. Any loss or damage to any equipment or property owned by the facility is the responsibility of the League.  The League in turn, will hold responsible, any participant(s), spectator(s) or other person(s) present in the facility for activities contemplated by the agreements in place, financially and in all other ways, to indemnify the League for any such loss or damage.
  4. There will be no alcohol, tobacco (chewing tobacco or otherwise), drugs, sunflower seeds or food of any kind, or any illegal substance permitted in the facilities at any time.
  5. All coaches and teams are to ensure that the dressing rooms are left in a clean and orderly condition.
  6. Bikes, rollerblades or skateboards are not permitted within the facility.
  7. No animals are permitted within the Arenas.
  8. There will be absolutely no bouncing or throwing of balls in any area inside or outside of the facilities rented by MMLL.   Players in full uniform may bounce or throw balls in these facilities only on the playing floor and only during games in which they are scheduled to play.   Full uniform includes jersey, headwear (helmet and facemask), mouth guard and gloves, as well as all players’ equipment required and approved for lacrosse that is to be worn under the jersey (CLA Rule 13-protective shoulder and arm pads, back/kidney pad).  For goaltenders, full uniform includes facemask, helmet, throat guard, gloves, leg guards, shin protectors, pants, chest protector, shoulder and arm pads, as well as a jersey and may include safety toed shoes.
  9. It is the responsibility of the parents, spectators, coaches, referees and league administrators to reinforce and enforce this policy.
  10. These policies are meant to promote safety and respect, ensure fun and good sportsmanship at any lacrosse event.
  11. These policies are meant to eliminate behaviour and actions that detract from the positive environment in which lacrosse games should be played.
  12. These policies are meant to ensure that the League can control and eliminate behaviour that would risk loss of access to facilities, which would prevent the provision of games for the participants to enjoy.
